About Us

Gramercy Park Services (GPS) was founded in 1971 as a private, for-profit center organized to meet the psychological needs of adults and families in New York.

Over the years, Gramercy Park Medical Group (GPMG) has grown to provide a wide range of programs and services to the residents of New York State, along with specialized services for adults and their families.

GPS is licensed by New York State, Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services, SAMHSA, DEA, is CARF (Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited, and is recognized by the Department of Children & Families.

All programs offered by Gramercy Park Services Mental Health Services are by appointment or referral only.

Appointments and specific program information can be obtained by calling us at 212-475-1900 Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. as well as Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  After hours, call:  212-946-1397.   Or stop by the clinic.  We are conveniently located on the east side of Manhattan at 253 Third Avenue.

There is a fee charged for services offered by the agency. These fees are based on a sliding fee scale according to the individual’s ability pay, unless otherwise noted for specific programs. Medicaid, Medicare, and other Third Party reimbursements are accepted.

Our Goals

The goals of treatment include feeling better about who you are; enjoying life around you; and meeting your personal responsibilities. To achieve the goals of treatment, you must:

• Make a commitment to therapy.
• Attend all scheduled appointments on time.
• Participate in the planning of your treatment.

Who Provides Care at GPS

Our team of professionals includes social workers, psychologists, counselors, nurses, counseling therapists, rehabilitation counselors, and psychiatrists. All staff is required to submit proof of their credentials, training, and licensure. They are required to undergo vigorous inspection, supervision, and ongoing education and training.

Dr. Guillermo Seco, MD, PhD, Medical Director

Dr. Seco’s approach to therapy is individualized and interactive with a focus on long-term sustainable change. In addition to patience, empathy, humor, reliability, and intellectual curiosity, he brings to his work the personal and professional experience and expertise to work with individuals, couples, and polygroups around the full range of concerns particular to the needs of broad communities. 

Other areas of special interest include identity issues, interpersonal conflict, depression, anxiety, loneliness, life crisis, creative blocks, eating/body image issues, self-esteem, and sexual difficulties.

In addition to being a licensed Internist with 50 years of experience, Dr. Seco is a certified acupuncturist and clergy member of the First Church of Religious Science (http://stuartgrayson.com).
